When life gives you lemons…

How does it go? When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

When my life came crashing to a halt through a range of horrible symptoms, it took me a while to spot anything good.

But then I started Zonked Club.

I wasn’t sure how it would go or what purpose it would serve. I just wanted it to be useful.

As time’s gone on, it’s developed two strands. The Daily Doses, with themed short reads on different aspects of ME, CFS and fatigue-linked conditions, and my personal blog which is more about how I put the theory into action – plus other random thoughts.

One thing I didn’t expect was the many supportive messages and comments, and shared advice that people are adding. Thank you!

Here’s a selection of them, beginning with Katie who responded to my blog about my varying diagnosis.

Katie said: “It sounds like they are being very thorough. I am really enjoying reading your blog posts and it’s great that you can write at times to suit you. I think writing and sharing is very cathartic.”

Charles posted about his own energy levels: “Low testosterone is woeful. I just want to sleep all the time.”

Kathryn sent this lovely email: “Firstly that you for such a easy site. I’ve had 20+ years of ME and have found a good chiropractor helps, as does meditation and easy stretching.”

Thanks to Faye for these kind words: “Thanks for the blog. It keeps us all going when we’re struggling.”

Sue responded to my Daily Dose about pain: “For pain, I try natural and alternative therapies. The best ones are meditation, both music and guided meditation, hand reflexology, and tapping therapy.”

And Michelle got in touch with this: “I love your blog. It explains well the many symptoms of ME which I’ve had for three decades.”
